PROSTHETIC PATIENT INFORMATION SHEETS

Background:

For new patients and recent amputees, learning exercises and information about amputation allows for better use of a prosthetic device. By providing patient information sheets, patients overcome the learning curve of a new prosthetic device.

Project Details:

Communicated with prosthetists on compiling key information in Spanish necessary for patients based on prosthetic care process, maintenance of prosthetic components, amputation-related information, strength exercises, and clinic’s contact info.

Created standard sheets for patients to keep and consult in order to better inform patients regardless of accessibility to clinic.

Implemented the sheets and a display case within the ROMP Guatemala clinic.
